Qingdao Port is a port in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, located in Jiaozhou Bay, Shandong Peninsula, near the Yellow Sea, across the sea from Japan and the Korean Peninsula, and is China’s international trade port and transit hub along the Yellow River basin and the west coast of the Pacific Rim.

In 1892, the Qing government built two docks in Qingdao Bay. In 1901, Qingdao port was built. In 1976, Qingdao Port began its first container service. In early 1992, the port of Qingdao opened the first international shipping trunk line and docked the first third-generation container ship. On February 24, 2002, Qingdao Port opened an international container route to West Asia. According to the comprehensive relevant information in 2023, the port water area of Qingdao Port is 420 square kilometers, and Qingdao Port is composed of five major port areas: Dagang Port Area, Huangdao Oil Port Area, Qianwan Port Area, Dongjiakou Port Area and Weihai Port area.

Qingdao Port business covers more than 700 ports in more than 180 countries and regions around the world. By 2023, Qingdao Port will have the world’s largest 400,000-ton ore terminal, 450,000 ton crude oil terminal, the world’s largest container terminal for 24,000 TEU ships, the world’s largest special terminal for 227,000-ton cruise ships and a world-class international cruise passenger center. As of May 2023, there are more than 200 container routes in Qingdao Port. In 2021, the cargo throughput was 657 million tons, an increase of 4.2%. Containers completed 24.82 million TEUs, an increase of 7.8%
